Deleting your account

You can delete your Cebugle account at any time, from the website or from the Cebugle app for iOS and Android. Deleting an account is permanent. There is no undo, and we cannot restore an account once it has gone.

From the app

1. Open the Cebugle app and sign in.
2. Go to the Account tab.
3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

From the website

1. Sign in and open Settings → Profile.
2. Scroll to Delete account.
3. Enter your password to confirm.

If you cannot sign in

Email [email protected] from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm the request before acting on it, and complete it within 30 days.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

• your profile — name, username, email address, phone number, photo and cover image;
• your posts, comments, reviews, questions and answers;
• your reactions, likes, follows and friendships;
• the teams you own, along with their memberships and pending invitations;
• your saved location, notification settings and other preferences;
• every browser session and access token issued to you, so you are signed out everywhere.

What happens to business listings you run

Business listings are not personal data and are usually older than the claim on them, so closing your account does not take a business off the directory. Any listing you claimed is released back to Cebugle and becomes an unclaimed listing again: your claim on it is cleared, you are removed from its team, and it stays in the directory for somebody else to claim.

What is kept, and why

• Audit records of administrative actions are retained. These record that a change happened; they are used to investigate abuse and to meet our legal obligations.
• Billing and tax records for any payment you made are retained by us and by our payment processor for as long as tax law requires.
• Backups. Deleted data can persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before those backups expire. It is not restored to the live service.

How long it takes

Deletion from the app or the website happens immediately. A request sent by email is completed within 30 days. Backups holding a copy expire within 30 days of the deletion.
